Renters who are facing eviction can take steps to protect their right to housing by using local resources that are at their disposal.
The Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation (CERA) and the National Right to Housing Network (NRHN) have developed a pamphlet with a list of rights-based resources in each province and territory of Canada to inform renters about:
- The provincial and territorial laws that protect their tenancy against eviction
- The bodies that make decisions about their tenancy
- Where they can go for legal help and information
- Other protections available beyond provincial legislation
